Background: Stress and fatigue is one of the most researched topics in recent years. Health employees are highly affected by the work related stress and fatigue phenomenon and this has a negative impact on the job satisfaction of the personnel. This study was carried out in order to determine the effect of job stress and burnout levels of the health personnel working in the emergency department of 3 hospitals in the center of Şanlıurfa province on job satisfaction. Methods: This study was carried out to determine the effect of work related stress and fatigue on job satisfaction in the health employees at the emergency department of three hospitals in the center of Şanlıurfa province. The study was performed with 185 personnel between 01.5.2019and31.05.2019.In order to collect the data, the work stress scale developed by Acar and Zuhal Batlaş, the Burnout Inventory developed by Maslachand the Minnesota job satisfaction scale were used. Results: The reliability levels of the scales using in the study were 934 for Minnesota job satisfaction, 896 for work stress scale and 894 for burnout scale. The effect of work related stress and fatigue level on job satisfaction was not statistically significant according to the data obtained from 3 hospitals (p=0,130). When evaluated on the basis of hospital, it is determined that the effect of work related stress and fatigue level on job satisfaction of health personnel working in university (p=0,129) and private hospital emergency services (p=0,451) is not statistically significant, whereas it was statistically significant in state hospital (p=0,004). Conclusion: While job stress and burnout level did not have a significant effect on job satisfaction in private hospital and university hospital emergency service workers, it was determined that work stress and burnout level of health personal working in state hospital emergency department had a significant effect on job satisfaction. Government hospital administrators should take measures to protect employee emergency service personel from stress caused by the work place and increase etheir job satisfaction
