Abstract:

In the historical process, epidemic diseases have created significant physical and psychological changes that are felt in individuals, affecting the history of mankind in different periods. Covid-19, which occurred in December 2019 in China’s city of Wuhan, is one of the epidemic diseases declared by the World Health Organization (WHO). In our modern world, social isolation measures taken by community health surveillance for Covid-19 which threatens humanity, make it compulsory for individuals to be at home. In this process, in addition to the needs of individuals such as rest, accommodation, food and drink, office work hours and social times spent outside are included in the time spent at home. The spiritual effect of the psychology of being obligatory at home on individuals prepares the ground for change in the perception of the place of the person. Decisions taken on color, which is one of the important parameters in the perception of the place, and changes in the interpretation of the individual's color, are among the process's recurrences. The physical place where a person lives is the place where the feeling of belonging to a place is most experienced. As a result of social isolation, the process evolving from the usual collective life cycle in the popular culture, leads the individual to establish and questioning meaningful connections with the physical place. The aim of the study is to question the color interpretations of individuals' living areas, by moving from the situations where being at home is required as a result of a current epidemic disease. The study includes individuals who continue their routines in their homes along with the pandemic process while spending most of their daily life routines outside. Analysis data obtained by an online survey of over 100 individuals reflect the positive relationship of psychological components with individual color preferences.
