The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine school effectiveness. For this purpose, validity and reliability analysis of the scale has been conducted. To determine the validity of the study, the discovery and verifying factor analysis; the internal consistency ratio of Cronbach's Alpha was calculated to reduce its reliability. The statistical processes of the data used the SPSS 18.00 and LISREL 8.7 packages. The study’s work group was formed by all teachers in a total of 33 secondary schools in the Erzincan district in the 2014-2015 educational year. The draft scale provided by the expert opinion of scale validity was applied to 239 teachers for the study of the analytical factor analysis and the total variance described in the analysis was identified as 66.27%. The verifying factor analysis was carried out through 377 teachers from the same universe. The analysis found that the scale had acceptable compatibility values (x2/sd (817.72/421=1.94, RMSEA=0.05, GIF=0.88, AGFI=0.86, RMR=0.084, CFI=0.98, NNFI=0.98) and a five-factor structure. The subdimensions in the scale are called in the form of "managers", "learners", "school environment and educational process", "students" and "school environment and guardians". In the reliability analysis, the Cronbach’s Alpha value of the scale is calculated as 0.95. The results of the analysis show that the Effective School Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool consisting of 5 dimensions and 31 items.
In this study, it is aimed to develop valid and reliable measurement tool for determining effectiveness of school. For this purpose, analysis is made on the validity and reliability of this scale. It is calculated that exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis for validity of research as well as it is calculated that internal consistency of Cronbach’s Alpha for reliability of research. It is benefited from SPSS 18.00 and LISREL 8.7 of package program in statistical operations of data. The study group consisted of all the teachers working in 33 secondary schools in Erzincan city center in 2014-2015 academic year. The exploratory factor analysis was applied to a total of 239 teachers. As a result of the analysis, the variance was determined as 66.27%. At the end of the analysis, to 377 teachers from the same sample were applied to confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of the analysis, the scale has been acceptable fit values (x² / sd (817.72 / 421 = 1.94, RMSEA = 0.05, GIF = 0.88, AGFI = 0.86, RMR = 0.084, CFI = 0.98, NNFI = 0.98) and have been confirmed five factors structures. At the end of the study, the sub-dimensions were classified as principals, teachers, school environment, education process, students, school environment and parents. In the reliability analysis, the Cronbach’s Alpha rate was determined to be 0.95. In conclusion, an effective school scale consisting of 31 items and 5 dimensions can be accepted as a reliable and valid scale.
