Abstract:

Since no accreditation activities are carried out in graduate programs in Turkey, this research was carried out to develop the graduate accreditation standards of the programs affiliated to the Institute of Educational Sciences and to contribute to the graduate accreditation studies in Turkey. The research was carried out using a dual combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection tools and data analysis techniques. Document analysis and Delphi technique were used to collect research data. By using document analysis, undergraduate and graduate standards of 27 accreditation organizations from 12 countries, European Union standards and undergraduate and graduate standards of regional accreditation bodies were examined. The questionnaire prepared in a five-point Likert type was presented to the opinions and evaluations of 47 experts who participated in the research. Descriptive analysis method in the analysis of data obtained by document analysis technique; Statistical analysis methods were used in the analysis of the data obtained with the Delphi technique. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the research with statistical analysis, 88 sub-standards related to 8 standard fields were prepared. During the preparation of the indicators and evidence, the opinions of 7 experts were taken. In this study, 7 sub-standards, 9 indicators and 29 evidences related to the self-assessment team standard area of graduate programs were prepared. This standard emerged as the only standard area that all participants agreed on from the first round and did not change much.
