Hussein Rahmi Gürpınar is one of the many writers of Turkish literature. The main theme of his 41 novels, 9 stories and 5 theatrical works is Istanbul. The writer, named "100 percent Istanbul Muhariri and the Muhariri of Istanbul", is shown as the greatest historian of ancient Istanbul life. In his works, the inner neighborhoods of Istanbul and the people living in these neighborhoods are exhibited in more detail than other romans. The real opportunity for Hussein Rahmi to read is that, as long as the old Istanbul life, people formed in that life can find their daily concerns, care and joy.

In Hussein Rahmi's works, Istanbul is in the spatial sense; with its entrance structure, depth, eternity, mystery and even fairy tales, it is like a forest. In the novels, the old people describe the city, and the new people describe it. There was a difference in perception between the old-generation inhabitants and young people. The root of these two perceptions is Western modern thought.

Istanbul is a form of city perception of the old generation that allows for reading in the forest metaphor. The beginning of new generations to study in modern schools, the beginning of the use of electricity and cars changes the entire perception of time and space in the city. Hussein Rahmi is a glimpse that gives the last look to Istanbul and its people, which was lost before everything.

In this study, the relationships between the forest metaphor and the city [Istanbul] were investigated by movement from the works of Hussein Rahmi, and the results were achieved to identify traces of the city's current life.

Based on the writings of Hüseyin Rahmi, this study looked into the connection between the metaphor of the forest andthe city of Istanbul. Using the findings, it attempted to reconstruct the history of the city at the time.
