Abstract:

The health institutions are a different environment for the pediatric group than their environments they are used to, and they are the environments that prevent them from their daily lives and roles for a certain period of time. Research shows that children need different care and treatment than an adult. Children are not miniature adults. When compared to adults, they experience much more serious consequences when they are exposed to medical errors or damage due to their physical, cognitive, emotional and anatomical insufficiency. In this context, pediatric clinics are the units that require more effort on patient safety practices. Reduction or prevention of medical errors in pediatric clinics that threaten the safety of the patient, workforce, quality of life and loss of life can be possible with the knowledge of the errors sources. This editing article is written in order to raise awareness and awareness about the common problems related to patient safety in pediatric clinics.
