Anthologies play an important role in endearing children poems. Children’s poems anthologies need to be examined evaluated and depending on this need to be improved. The objective of research is to examine children’s poems anthologies in terms of the form and content. For this purpose, fifteen children’s poems anthologies published between 2000-2013 were examined in terms of form and content according to the document review process. While anthologies are leveled under four headings in terms of form; age, illustrations, order of the poems and rhyme ; in terms of content anthologies are leveled under four headings ; topics, types of poetry, language and style and appropriateness of the child perspective. The assessments of children’s poems anthologies are graded as satisfactory, inadequate and partially enough. According to these investigations anthologies, are inadequate leveled with respect to age and illustration; but in terms of order of poems anthologies are partially enough. Besides; didactic poems are more common than the others in the anthologies; it is determined that while in the anthologies topics like Ataturk, teacher, class-school, book, mother-father, family, country, flag, seasons, vehicle, animals and plants mentioned more is proper for level of the children; in terms of appropriateness for child’s level so few of the poems in the anthologies are proper. Accordingly, when children’s poems anthologies are prepared, they should be leveled according to age and class, in this anthologies it is necessary to have illustration and drawings which have aesthetic value and appropriate for children’s taste and perception, in addition, in the children’s poems anthologies the most beautiful poetry must be selected which Turkish aesthetic value.
