Abstract This research proposes a classification of Knowledge Management Strategies in order to enhance educational innovation in Higher Education Institutions. To achieve this a documentary analysis was used. The results allude to the creative and innovative consolidation of education through school management, so this should be supported by aspects such as complex thinking, innovation processes, information and communication technologies and strategies or methods of management of the knowledge that ensures that internal and external knowledge is shared so that it can be transmitted and assimilated. The classification of strategies is based on the organizational and pedagogical-didactic levels of school management, and eight knowledge processes divided into exploration and exploitation. Finally, future analysis of practices and strategies implemented are suggested, and from it, the design of a goal-strategy.
