Abstract:

Religion has been a useful argument for the administration of societies since the early periods of civilized humanity. The rulers have gained an unquestionable power using this argument. This power has significantly influenced both the country’s internal and foreign policies. Geopolitics is the science that explores how the current geography is directed to foreign policy. The important point to emphasize here is that the geography concerned and all the power elements belonging to this geography should be analysed together. In this study, the difference between the geopolitical concept and the political geography was pointed out. The definition of geopolitics, one of the most used concepts of modern times, has also been discussed with the intersection of geopolitics with religious and religious systems, that is, the formation of religious geopolitics, how it influences or will influence the policies of the countries. This article is derived from the master's thesis entitled "Iran's Religious Geopolitics" by Cihan Chifi.
