Osmanlı Devleti ile İspanya’da 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren eşzamanlı olarak liberal gelişmeler yaşanmaya başlamıştır. Osmanlı Devleti’nde Sultan Abdülaziz’in hal’i ile meşrutî monarşi düzenine geçiş başlamışken, İspanya’da da Kraliçe II. Isabel tahttan indirilmiş ve cumhuriyet rejimi denemesi yapılmıştır. İki ülkede de bu süreçler kısa sürmüş ve monarşiler liberal hareketlere karşı üstünlük sağlamışlardır. Bu süreçler içerisinde, İspanya, kendisiyle aynı türden gelişmelerin yaşandığı dostu Osmanlı Devleti’ndeki gelişmeleri yakından takip etmiştir. İspanyol basını da, Sultan Abdülaziz’in hal’inden itibaren süreci yakından takip etmiş ve İspanya halkını bu gelişmelerden haberdar etmiştir. Çalışmanın temel kaynağı olarak kullanılan İspanyol gazetelerinde yayımlanan haberler, İspanya Milli Kütüphanesi ve İspanya Kültür ve Spor Bakanlığı bünyelerindeki gazete arşivlerinden temin edilmiştir. Haberlerde sadece bilgiler verilmekle kalınmamış ve yapılan yorumlarla İspanyolların Osmanlı Devleti’ndeki gelişmelerle ilgili düşünce ve yargıları da ortaya konulmuştur. Haberlerde ele alınan temel konular, Sultan Abdülaziz’in hal’i, Sultan V. Murad’ın tahta çıkışı, faaliyetleri ve hastalığı ile Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in tahta çıkışıdır. Bunların yanı sıra, İspanyol basınında, özellikle Sultan Abdülaziz’in hal’inde önemli rol oynayan softalarla ilgili de ayrıntılı bilgilere rastlanmaktadır.
From the second half of the 19th century in the Ottoman State and Spain, liberal developments began to occur simultaneously. In the Ottoman state, the transition to the legitimate monarchy order began with the status of Sultan Abdulaziz, and in Spain, the Queen II. Isabel was dropped from the throne and the Republican regime was tested. In both countries, these processes were short, and the monarchs gained superiority over liberal movements. During these processes, Spain has closely followed the developments in the friendly Ottoman State where the same kind of developments have occurred with it. The Spanish press has also followed the process closely since the state of Sultan Abdülaziz and has informed the Spanish people of these developments. The news published in the Spanish newspapers used as the main source of the study is provided from the archives of the newspapers within the Spanish National Library and the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports. The news is not only informed and the comments made have also revealed the opinions and judgments of the Spanish about the developments in the Ottoman State. The main topics discussed in the news, the state of Sultan Abdülaziz, the outcome of the throne of Sultan V. Murad, the activities and the disease of Sultan II. It is the trees of Abdülhamid. In addition, there is also detailed information in the Spanish press, especially about the softs that play an important role in the case of Sultan Abdülaziz.
From the second half of the 19th century, there has been liberal movements in the Ottoman Empire and Spain simultaneously. In the Ottoman part, after the demolition of Sultan Abdulaziz transition process to the constitutional monarchy had started. In Spain, similar movements had dethroned the Queen Isabel II and republican regimen had tried for the first time. In both countries, these processes had ceased in a short time and monarchs had outbalanced against liberal movements. Within these processes, Spain had closely tracked the similar developments in the allied Ottoman Empire. Even Spanish press, have closely followed up the liberal process in the Ottoman Empire after the demolition of Sultan Abdulaziz and kept Spaniards informed about the improvements. News in the Spanish newspapers as the main source of this work, was collected from the newspaper archives of Spanish National Library and Spanish Ministry of Culturee and Sports. Newspapers not only gave information about the movement in the Ottoman Empire but also transmitted thoughts and judgments of Spaniards by making comments in the news. Main subjects handled in the news were, demolition of Sultan Abdulaziz, accession of Sultan Murad V. to the throne, his activities and illness and accession of Sultan Abdulhamid to the throne. Besides these, Spanish newspapers gave detailed information especially on “Softa”s which played an important role in the demolition of Sultan Abdülaziz.
