Abstract:

As an individual, it is necessary for a person to continue to control his life, to be able to adapt to the cultural diversity he creates and to use the ability to adapt to the differences that are the great power of his genes. These differences create new cultures, different personalities and social environments. The foundation of the multicultural social structure in Turkey is the geopolitical position and historical heritage. From a sociological point of view, this situation is defined as ‘cultural/social difference’. In the process of the rapid development of information technologies, globalization seems to have significantly changed the cultural and economic dimensions as well. The purpose of this research is to show how the Turkish Education System is adapted to the multicultural education understanding in educational practices with teachers' perceptions. The findings of the research were collected using the "semi-structured conversation" technique. The findings of the study show that in general, teachers observe the individual differences of their students and organize their teaching skills, class management, teaching methods and techniques according to these differences. In order for multicultural education to be placed within the educational system, teachers can be supported by the service training they need.
