Abstract:

Vitamin D, called "Sun Vitamin", consists of three solid steroid rings and is a sub-class vitamin of the steroid family known as secosteroids. The biological functions in which vitamin D plays a wide variety, and this vitamin is effective on growth development, bone health, immune system, metabolic diseases, and mental health, from intrauterine life to the end of life. This collection, prepared according to current literature, aimed at taking into account the levels of vitamin D of individuals in the process ofining a healthy life, prevention of diseases, treatment and care, evaluating the effects of vitamin D on different body systems.

Vitamin D is a subclass of the steroid family known as the secosteroid, which consists of three intact steroid rings, called Solar Vitamin D. The biological functions in which vitamin D is involved are very diverse. This vitamin is effective from the growth of intrauterine life to the end of life, bone health, immune system, metabolic diseases, and mental health. In this literature review, the relationship between different body systems and vitamin D has been evaluated and it is aimed to take into consideration vitamin D levels of individuals in the process of maintaining a healthy life and prevention of diseases, treatment and care process.
