Aviation transportation has reached a global stop for the first time during the Covid-19 Pandemic process. The main objective is to analyze the effects of Covid-19 Pandemic on air transport in Turkey, this study is structured as a data assessment axis. The basic data set of the study is the Turkish Statistical Authority (TÜIK) annual airline transport data and monthly airline transport data produced by the State Airport Operation (DHMİ). In January-August 2020, the total passenger transportation declined by 62.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the total cargo transportation declined by 45.4%. Based on the top 10 airports in Turkey that made the most transportation in 2019, it is clear that the maximum proportional decline in total passenger transportation compared to the same period of August 2020 is in Antalya Airport (80.1%), and the highest decline in cargo transportation is also in Antalya Airport (80.5%). As a result of the pandemic, the number of passengers transported around the world is expected to decrease by 53-60% over the course of 2020 compared to the previous year, the current data indicates that similar situation will occur in Turkey. It is estimated that by the end of 2020 the pandemic will result in a loss of $352-390 billion in air transport. The pandemic in Turkey, according to 2019 data, is expected to have a negative impact on the airline employment of 205 thousand.

Airline transportation almost completely came to a standstill on a global scale for the first time due to the Covid-19 Pandemic process. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on airline transportation in Turkey. The study has been formed within the framework of data evaluation. The basic data of this study is general airline transportation statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and monthly airline transportation data from State Airports Authority (DHMI). That situation in the world due to pandemic has also experienced similarly in Turkey. The measures and restrictions taken in this process brought about a significant decrease in the number of passengers and the amount of cargo compared to the previous periods. In the January-August period of 2020, there was a 62.8% decrease in total passenger transportation compared to the same period of the previous year. In the same period, a total decrease of 45.4% was experienced in freight transportation. Considering the top 10 airports in 2019 in Turkey; at the end of August 2020, Antalya Airport experienced the highest proportional decrease in total passenger transportation (80.1%) and freight transportation (80.5%) compared to the same period of 2019.
