Bir TÜBİTAK Bilim Fuarına Katılan Öğrencilerin Fizik Dersine Yönelik Tutumlarındaki Değişimin İncelenmesi

Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir TÜBİTAK Bilim Fuarına katılan öğrencilerin fizik dersine karşı tutumlarının değişimini incelemektir. Bu çalışmada, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan deneysel yöntemle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilmiş Likert türündeki 28 maddeden oluşan Fizik Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ile TÜBİTAK Bilim Fuarlarına katılan öğrencilerin tutumlarındaki değişim incelenmiştir. Araştırmada ilgi, kaygı, önem ve özyeterlik faktörlerinden oluşan fizik dersine yönelik tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçek TÜBİTAK Bilim Fuarı ile ilgili ön hazırlık çalışmaları başlamadan dört ay kadar önce ve fuardan bir hafta sonra, bir fen lisesinde öğrenim gören 33’ü kadın, 59’u erkek, toplam 92 lise öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin genel tutumlarında olumlu yönde bir değişim olmasına karşın, yalnızca kaygı boyutundaki değişim istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeydedir. Ön test ve son test arasında cinsiyet açısından kadın öğrencilerin lehine “Önem”, sınıf düzeyi açısından ise “İlgi” ve “Önem” faktörlerinde üst sınıfların lehine anlamlı değişim olduğu görülmüştür.

Review of the Change of Attitudes in the Physics Course of Students Participating in a TÜBİTAK Science Exhibition

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the changes in attitudes of students participating in a TÜBİTAK Science Exhibition towards the course of physics. In this study, it was conducted by a experimental method, which is one of the quantum research methods. Researchers have developed 28 items in the likert type of Physics lesson attitude scale and the changes in attitudes of students who participate in the TÜBİTAK Science Exhibitions have been studied. In the research, the attitude scale to the course of physics, which consists of interest, anxiety, importance and self-sufficiency factors, was used. Up to four months before the start of the preliminary preparation studies related to the Scale TÜBİTAK Science Fair and a week after the exhibition, 33 women, 59 men, and a total of 92 high school students who studied in a high school of science were applied. As a result, although there is a positive change in the general attitudes of students, only the change in the size of anxiety is statistically meaningful. Between the pre-test and the final test, there was a meaningful change in the benefit of the female students in terms of gender, and in terms of class level in terms of "interest" and "importance" factors in terms of upper classes.

The aim of this study is to investigate the change in the attitudes of physics courses of the students participating a TÜBİTAK Science Fair. In this study, quantitative research techniques were used. The study was carried as a quasi-experimental model. The research examines the attitudes of the students participating in TÜBİTAK Science Fairs with Attitude Scale for Physics Course consisting of 28 items in Likert type developed by the researchers. Attitude scale for physics courses consisting of interest, anxiety, importance and self-efficacy factors were used. This scale was applied to a total of 92 high school students, 33 female and 59 male students who were studying at a science high school four months before and after the TUBITAK Science Fair. As a result, there is a positive change in general attitudes of students but only the change in the factor of anxiety is statistically significant. Between the pre-test and the post-test, there was a significant change in favor of the female students in terms of “Importance” and in favor of the upper grade students in terms of “Interest” and “Importance”.
