Teknolojinin hızla gelişmesiyle birlikte İnternet ve sosyal medya bireylerin ihtiyaç ve arzularını karşılama noktasında her geçen gün daha da önemli bir konuma gelmektedir. İnternet, eğitimden eğlenceye, alışverişten iletişime kadar çeşitli imkânlar sağlamaktadır. İnternet ve sosyal medyanın hayatın her alanında sağladığı kolaylıklarına rağmen aşırı derecede kullanımı bireyler için önemli bir sorun haline gelmektedir. Çünkü İnternet ve sosyal medya kullanımı zaman içerisinde alışkanlığa, alışkanlıktan da bağımlılığa dönüşebilme riskine sahiptir. Özellikle orta ve yüksek öğrenim öğrencileri İnternet ve sosyal medyayı aşırı kullanmaları nedeniyle bağımlılık riski altındadır. Bu çalışmada öncelikle bağımlılık ve çeşitleri hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. İkinci bölümünde İnternet ve sosyal medya bağımlılığına ilişkin temel kavramlar yer almaktadır. Son olarak 2000-2018 yılları arasında yerli ve yabancı akademik dergilerde yer alan öğrencilerin İnternet ve sosyal medya bağımlılığı üzerine çalışmalara ilişkin bir yazın taraması gerçekleştirilmiştir.
With the rapid development of technology, the Internet and social media are becoming an increasingly important position every day at the point of meeting the needs and desires of individuals. The Internet provides a variety of opportunities from education to entertainment, from shopping to communication. Despite the facilities that the Internet and social media provide in all areas of life, excessive use is becoming a major problem for individuals. Because the use of the Internet and social media is at risk of becoming a habit, and from a habit to a dependence over time. Higher and secondary school students are at risk of addiction due to their overuse of the Internet and social media. This study provides information about dependency and its varieties. The second part contains the basic concepts of internet and social media addiction. Finally, a summer survey of the studies on Internet and social media addiction of students in domestic and foreign academic journals between 2000-2018 was carried out.
As a result of technologic developments, the Internet and social media are becoming more and more important for the needs and desires of individuals. From education to entertainment, shopping to communication, Internet provides a wide range of benefits. In spite of the convenience provided by the Internet and social media in every aspects of life, they also cause important problems for individuals since Internet and social media usage have the risk of being transformed into habit or addiction. Especially, secondary and higher education students are at the risk of being addicted due to excessive use of the Internet and social media. In this paper, firstly the addiction problem and its types are explained. In the second section, Internet and social media addiction problems have been defined. Finally, in the last section a literature review on Internet and social media addiction of the students have been given for the period between 2000 and 2018.
