Non surgical follow up of geriatric patients with mucosal malign melanoma in head and neck region

Abstract:

Head and neck mucosal malign melanomas (MMM) are very rare oncologic diseases with poor prognostic outcomes. MMM involves nasal septum, paranasal sinuses, lateral nasal wall, oral cavity in the head and neck region. While the main therapotic option stands to be surgery in the treatment protocol chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be combined with or without surgery. But in the older ages follow up may be a consideration without any treatment. Here we report 3 MMM of the head and neck cases in the geriatric ages who all denied any treatment regimes including surgery and chose follow up option.
