Abstract:

This article reveals the concept of human in Aristotle's thought, the nature of human and the qualities that distinguish him from other living things. The concept of human, belongs to Aristotele will be examined in terms of spiritual, moral and political aspects. Human is a living being as a fact of nature of itself, and the reason for its vitality is the form of his body, which is, the soul. According to Aristotle, the soul also exists in plants and animals. The soul has certain abilities and some of these abilities are common to all living beings. Some abilities of the soul belongs to only one certain species. The human soul has the ability to think, which is not found in the souls of other living things. Aristotle makes a connection between the ability and the term of good. Human's goal is to reach the best, and the best thing for him is being happy. Human can reach to happiness only by the rational activity of his soul. In other words, a person needs logic and thinking in order to reach a good life. Aristotle says that people need society, laws and state in order to reach the best and become competent. The discourse of Aristotle which is "Human is a political animal." means that one can reach to the best which is indeed happiness, by only being among the society and with police.
