Abstract:

Creating new forms of words beyond the usual use of language, by making changes in the syntax, sound and form properties of words and expressions is called “linguistic deviation”. Linguistic deviations in the poems of Oruç Aruoba forming a unique discourse with the poems he has written have been identified and examined in the study. Thus, the aim of the study is to reveal the characteristics of the poet’s discourse. The article consists of three main sections. In the first section, the views of some important researchers on deviations and the classification of them are discussed. In the second section, deviations in Aruoba’s poems are examined under five titles as lexical, phonetic, orthographic, semantic and grammatical deviations and they are exemplified. In the third section, a number of evaluations and inferences were carried out on the causes of deviations in his poems and the philosophical infrastructure of these deviations.
