Abstract:

It is possible to say that categories are the most generally charged ones in terms of being the subject, both logic and philosophy are entering the field of research. It appears that Aristotle, who systematizes the logic, put this work on the head of the Organon culture and strongly revealed its importance by linking the understanding of all sciences to the categories. In the post-Aristotle period, the most important work that was closely studied by both the Hellenistic historians and the Islamic philosophers, were Categories. In fact, when we look at the history of philosophy and logic, we can say that more than two hundred sherhins have been written on the categories of other works, but very few have reached today. The work called categories is important in terms of creating the main source of serious discussions from ancient times to present. One of these discussions is about the number of categories. In this article we will also try to examine the discussions on the number of categories in the process from Aristotle to Ibn Hazm and the solutions to them.
