Abstract:

Abstract The objective of this investigation was to map the academic production on rowing disseminated in the main scientific journals of Brazilian Physical Education. The methodology used to achieve the objective of a bibliometric research. The results allowed to point out that “Movimento” is the periodical that published more about rowing among all. The period between 2014 and 2017 was the period in which more publications on rowing were observed. The study reveals the scientific production on rowing in the field of Brazilian Physical Education and points to a predominance of qualitative studies, especially on the social and cultural representations of the sport, as well as regional influences, which represents a highlight of the sociocultural subarea.
