Abstract:

This study investigates the Hazaras who adopt the Jafari-Alawite identity and who lives as refugees in Iran and Pakistan except Afghanistan. That many Hazaras express themselves by using their secterian identity rather than ethnic identity reveals the importance of religion and sect. Hazara religion is practically similiar to Caferis but in terms of folk beliefs is similiar to Anatolian Alawites. In this context, Hazaras who are the member of this sect in Afghanistan,Iran and Pakistan are also referred as Alawite.In this study,the dimensions of Hazaras’ religious beliefs and behaviours will be discussed in paralel to some factors such as; Imamat in Hazaras’ religious conception occured as a result of change in Hazaras’ society; knowing 12 Imams,knowing the Imams innocent are; the arrival of Mahdi and that mostly in which areas and what level the alterations and differentiations in Velayet-i Faqih issues are, besides; that in which direction the attitudes and behaviours of people towards religion who have different characteristics are; gender, age, place of residence and education level of the individual which affect this alteration and differentiation. Various analyzes of these issues listed above were carried out in accordance with the findings of survey data which was carried out for the purpose of detecting of Hazaras’ religious beliefs and the factors affecting the formation of Hazaras’ religious conception.Besides the factors which are Hazaras’ different characteristics such as gender,age, still place of residence and education level; socio-cultural structure which Hazaras take part in bring about changes in expectations and ideology of individuals. Therefore; diversity of the religious conception of Hazaras is inevitable
