Abstract:

In the Industry 4.0 phase, which is now called the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the rapid technological development and transformation enterprises are forced to conduct innovation activities. However, as the Industry 4.0 knowledge level does not have sufficient empirical research on how and how it affects innovation activities, our work is focused on filling the gap on this subject. The aim of the research is to reveal the impact of Industry 4.0 awareness on innovation and its subdimensions. The research sample consists of 177 large and medium-sized business managers operating in the district of Kırşehir. In the study, the data was collected with the help of the survey consisting of reliability and validity of tested scales. Correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis were made to test the hypotheses of the study. Research findings have found a positive relationship between Industry 4.0 awareness and innovation and its subdimensions. The findings have shown that Industry 4.0 awareness affects innovation at a medium level. However, Industry 4.0 awareness has been observed to have a medium impact on product innovation and market innovation from the size of innovation, while process innovation and organizational innovation have a low impact. Finally, some of the limitations of the study and some recommendations for the research to be done in the future.
