Bu makalede, Sadru’l-İslâm Döneminde bir edebî tür olarak hitabetin gelişim serüveni geniş bir perspektifte incelenmektedir. Makalede ilkönce siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik açıdan Sadru’l-İslâm Döneminin genel özellikleri hakkında bilgi verilmekte, daha sonra edebî bir tür olarak hitabetin bu dönemdeki tarihi seyri içerisinde gelişimini, hitabeti gerektiren unsurları, hitabetin sunumu ve hatiplerin statüleri ele alınmaktadır. Bu alandaki çalışmamıza kaynak olarak Arap edebiyatı alanında yazılmış eski kaynaklara ve modern dönemde konuyla ilgili olarak yazılmış eserlere başvurulmuştur. Ayrıca bu makale “Cahiliye Döneminde ve Sadru’l-İslâm Döneminde Hitabet” adlı doktora tezimizin ikinci bölümünden istifade edilerek yazılmıştır.
