Çocuk edebiyatı, bir milletin geleceğinin teminatı olan çocuklar bakımından düşünüldüğünde, yetişkin edebiyatından daha önemli bir hal alır. Çünkü edebiyatın devamını sağlayacak etkin güç, çocuk edebiyatında içkindir. Ancak çocuk, yaşı itibarıyla yalnız başına bu görevi yerine getiremeyeceğinden, çevresindeki, anne, baba, kardeş ve diğerleri gibi, kendi yakınlarından yardım alması bir gerekliliktir. Bu yardımlar içeriğinde sadece çocuklara eğitim-öğretim faaliyetleri değil, içinde yaşadığımız toplumun kültür dokusunun çocuğa verilmesinin yanında tiyatro, sinema ve benzeri sanatsal çalışmaları da çocukla buluşturmalıdır. Bu çaba, düşünen ve ufku geniş çocuklara sahip olabilmesinde, çocuk edebiyatına büyük bir görev düşer. Bu görevi de etkin bir şekilde kullanabilmek için edebiyatı çocuklara sevdirmek de konuyla alakalı yetkin yetişkinlere düşer.
When children’s literature is considered as a guarantee for the future of a nation, it becomes more important than adult literature. Because the effective power to keep the literature ongoing is the drink in children’s literature. But as the child cannot do this task alone by age, it is a need to seek help from his own relatives, like his mother, father, brother and others, around him. In the contents of these aid, not only educational activities to children, but also the cultural textures of the society in which we live, in addition to the children, the theater, cinema and other artistic works should meet with the child. In this effort, thinking and having a wide horizon of children, children's literature is a great task. To be able to use this task effectively, loving the literature to children is also the subject-related skilled adults.
Children’s Literature, if it is considered as a warranty of existence for a nation will be more significant than adult literature. Because of the power continuance provides in children’s literature. Since a child is too young to fulfil his/her duty, he/she is forced to ask for help from his parents or relatives. This helps must not only content education and training but includes cultural tradition in addition to artistic talents in areas such as theater, cinema and others. This, implies that children need to be able to reason and have an open mind. Children’s Literature is a considerable task for those aiming to impart children with this knowledge. Having said that, adults have to endear for children’s literature and reading to children.
