Abstract:

Today, with the development of computer and communication technologies, individuals and communities share information, transfer, chat among themselves, meet, communicate, play games, and so on. Through social networking sites. With the rapid progress in communication technologies, many new concepts such as internet, social media, social networks, virtual world have entered our lives. These developments in computer and communication technologies are rapidly being shared with users and spreading, and with the introduction of the internet and computers into our homes, the number of internet users has increased considerably. Thus, the use of social networks has become widespread in recent years. We admit that such developments have contributed to human history and everyday life, but when we think of these developments in terms of social sharing sites, we see that serious security problems arise in this area. The purpose of this research is to compare the commonly used social networking sites in terms of security features and to provide information about the security measures that can be taken and to raise awareness. In this direction, three popular social networking sites such as "Facebook", "Twitter" and "Youtube" are examined. In the study, the security and privacy features of social networking sites were presented comparatively and the data reached were interpreted and presented in tabular form. In this context, the ISO / IEC 17799 standard on information security has been observed.
