Abstract:

Schools, like other institutions, also have certain characteristics and they create the school climate. The school climate is closely linked to positive educational outcomes. For example, an open-air school counsel may increase the participation. According to the bioecological theory that forms the theoretical framework of this study, children are influenced by the interaction between school, family and the environment. This interaction guides children to both their learning and their psychological, social and emotional development. The aim of the study is to investigate whether the educational level of the parents and their children’s educational level will affect the perception of the school climate and the participation of the parents. The research design is a causal comparison and the participants of the study are primary and secondary school guardians in Ankara. The data collected from 1325 guests were subjected to two-way multi-variant variance analysis. According to the results of the study, the educational level of the parents and the educational level of their children influence the perception of the school climate and the participation of the parents. Primary school graduates believe that they are more involved in the school.
