Bu çalışmada Edirne Sarayı’nda bulunan bazı eşyaların listesi incelenmiştir. Defterin 5 Şubat 1684 tarihli olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Defter incelendiğinde Edirne Sarayı’nda bulunan eşyaların listesini içerdiği anlaşılmaktadır. Genel itibarıyla belirli bir tasnif yapıldığında defteri iki ana başlık altında incelebileceği görülmüştür. İlki delici ve kesici silahlardır. Bunlar arasında kılıçlar, hançerler, bıçaklar gibi kesici silahlar; ok, yay gibi delici silahların olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Kılıç ve hançerler genelde kınlarıyla kaydedilmiştir ve yapımında gümüş ve altın gibi madenler kullanılmıştır. Bu silahların süslemesinde elmas, yakut, inci, zümrüt gibi taşlar kullanılmıştır. Aynı durum delici silah olan ok, yay ve ok taşıma kapları için de geçerlidir. Altın ve gümüş gibi değerli madenlerden yapılan ve ışıl ışıl göz kamaştıran değerli taşlarla süslenen bu silahlar şüphesiz savaşma gayesinin ötesinde amaçlar için de kullanılıyordu. Güç ve iktidar sembolize etmek gibi.
Dönemin padişahı IV Mehmet’e ait eşyalar da defterde tasniflenebilecek diğer başlıktır. Şüphesiz ki güç ve iktidarını sergileyebildiği bu eşyalarla padişah, içinde bulunduğu ortamda görsel olarak da en dikkat çekici kişi olmayı başarmıştır.
