Abstract:

Today, technology is used in many fields of education. One of these areas is the virtual classroom application. In this research, Edmodo is used in virtual classroom applications. Edmodo is preferred because it is free, it is available in application stores. In this study, it was tried to determine the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards the use of Edmodo (virtual classroom) application in education. For this purpose, survey model, one of the quantitative research models, was used. In the 2018-2019 academic year, 234 pre-service teachers, 153 women, and 81 men, who took ‘Use of Technology in Education’ course in pedagogical formation education certificate program within a state university, constitute the sample of the research. Data were collected from the participants through the 'Personal Information Form' and the 18-item 'Attitude Towards the Use of Edmodo' scale. Jamovi 1.0.5.0 package program was used in the study, and the data were analyzed using the necessary statistical techniques. As a result of the research; It was determined that the attitude scores of teacher candidates towards using Edmodo in education were positive at the level of 'Agree'. It was determined that there were significant differences in the attitude scores of the prospective teachers according to gender, age, educational background, field of study, and faculty.
