Abstract:

In the world and in our country, the problem of abuse and neglect against children is an ancient social and health problem as human history. When it comes to the recorded events, abuse and negligence against the child has increased and has become a very important problem with its existence in the events that are not seen in the day. Ignoration and abuse, which is difficult and difficult to overcome for children with normal development, causes greater problems in children with special needs. Law, regulations, policies, regulations in the field of education and health, agreements made at national and international level, civil society organizations, written and visual media are elements that can contribute to the fight against this problem. The purpose of this study is 01.01.2014 - 31.12. From 2020 to 2020, it is to study and describe the news of abuse against disabled children published in 10 national newspapers in Turkey (Akşam, Republic, Universal, Hürriyet, Milliyet, Posta, Sabah, Sözcü, Turkey, Vatan). There are 136 news. Frequency analysis is divided into categories. When analysed the news of abuse and neglect of disabled children, it was found that children were sexually, physically, emotionally abused and abused respectively. The majority of children who are exposed to abuse or disobedience in terms of the kinds of disabilities have been shown to have mental disabilities. When examined in terms of the degree of proximity, the majority of them are the strangers that the child does not know. According to the results of the study, recommendations were presented to parents, teachers and the government.
