Abstract:

In this study, the population structure of Bodrum in the Atatürk period was discussed and detailed. In the entry section of the study, a brief information was provided about the historic state of Bodrum, the population transformation and the population structure before the Republic was announced. In the first part of the study, based on the results of the first general population counting, which was done on 28 October 1927, first, information was provided about the general population and gender of Bodrum. Then, according to the age groups, according to the civilization, according to the reading-writing, according to the birthplace, according to the branches of economic activity, according to the native, on the basis of disabilities, detailed information about the population structure of Bodrum was presented, some evaluations were made, a set of results were reached. In the second part of the study, on the basis of the results of the second population census made on 20 October 1935, information about the population structure of Bodrum was given, comparisons were made, some results were reached.
