Öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerinde etkili olan faktörlerin tespiti oldukça önemli olup, özellikle uluslararası öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını, okula yönelik zaman içerisinde gelişen aidiyet duyguları ve sosyalleşme düzeylerinin olumlu yönde etkileyeceği düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmada Türk Cumhuriyetlerinden Türkiye’ye gelen uluslararası öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerinde üniversiteye yönelik aidiyet duygularının etkisini ve bu etkide sosyalleşmenin aracı rolünü tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bununla birlikte turizm fakültelerinde okuyan öğrencilerin sosyalleşme durumlarının daha yüksek olabileceği varsayımından hareketle, Turizm Fakültesi’nde okuyan Türk Dünyası öğrencilerinin aidiyet duyguları ve sosyalleşme durumlarının diğer fakültelerde okuyan öğrencilere göre farklılığı incelenmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında Kastamonu Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören Türk Dünyası öğrencilerine anket uygulanmıştır. 2019 yılı Mayıs-Haziran aylarında gerçekleştirilen saha araştırması sonucu toplam 322 geçerli anket elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin üniversite aidiyet duygusunun akademik başarıları üzerinde doğrudan bir etkisinin olmadığı, sosyalleşmenin aracılık etkisi ile dolaylı bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca Turizm Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sosyalleşme durumlarının diğer fakülte öğrencilerine nazaran daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.
Identification of factors that influence students’ academic achievements is very important and it is believed that it will have a positive impact on academic achievements of international students, the developing feelings of affiliation and levels of socialization over time to school. This study aims to identify the influence of university affiliation feelings on the academic achievements of international students from the Turkish Republic to Turkey and the instrumental role of socialization in this effect. However, by moving from the assumption that the socialization conditions of students studying in tourism faculties may be higher, the differences between the feelings of membership and socialization of students studying in other faculties in the Turkish World faculties have been studied. The survey was applied to Turkish World students studying at Kastamonu University in the framework of the research. The results of the field research carried out in May-June 2019 have received a total of 322 current surveys. The research finds that the student’s university affiliation feeling has no direct impact on academic achievements, and that socialization has an indirect impact with the mediation effect. It has also been found that the socialization conditions of students studying at the Faculty of Tourism are higher than those of other faculty students.
