Rüzgar Enerjisi ve Çevresel Potansiyelinin Keşan Örneği Üzerinden İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Enerji ihtiyacının sürekli artması, yaygın kullanılan enerji kaynaklarının kısıtlı, tükenebilir ve çevreye zararlı olması alternatif enerji kaynaklarının kullanılmasını gerekli kılmıştır. Bu çalışmada amaç, rüzgar enerjisinin mesken elektrik enerjisi ihtiyacını karşılamakta ne kadar sürdürülebilir bir seçenek olduğunu incelemektir. İnceleme sonucunda, Edirne ili rüzgar türübini kurulumu için en uygun bölgelerden biri olarak belirlenmiştir. Edirne’de ekonomik olarak rüzgar enerji santrali (RES) kurulumu için uygun rüzgar hızı ve kapasite faktörü değerine sahip bölgelerinden olan Keşan ilçesi için 2018 yılı nüfusu ve nüfusun gerekli mesken elektrik ihtiyacı dikkate alındığında, 19 MW’ lık bir RES yatırımının ilçenin mesken elektrik ihtiyacını karşılayacağı tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan projeksiyon çalışmaları sonucunda 2050 yılına kadar gerekli mesken elektrik ihtiyacının karşılanması  için ise 165 MW’lık RES kurulması gerekmektedir. Ayrıca, çalışmamızda rüzgar enerjisinden elektrik eldesi sonucunda oluşan CO2 salınımları ile Türkiye’de mevcut durumda elektrik üretimi sonucu CO2 salınımları karşılaştırılmıştır. Elektrik ihtiyacının rüzgar enerjisiyle karşılanması durumunda, CO2 salınımında  %97,96 azalma sağlanacağı belirlenmiştir. Keşan özelinde rüzgar enerjisinin 2050 yılına kadar Keşan’daki elektrik ihtiyacını karşılama potansiyeline sahip olduğu belirlenmiş ve  Türkiye’nin  rüzgar enerji potansiyelini maksimum kapasitede kullanması ile ülkenin karbon salınımı azaltım hedeflerine ulaşılmasında büyük katkı sağlayabilecek düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The continuous increase in energy demand has made the use of alternative energy sources necessary to be limited, exhaustive and harmful to the environment as the generally used energy sources are limited. The aim of this study is to explore how sustainable wind energy is to meet the needs of home electricity. As a result of the review, Edirne is identified as one of the most suitable areas for the installation of the wind type. In Edirne, economically wind power plant (RES) is located in the areas with the appropriate wind speed and capacity factor value for the 2018 population and the population's necessary residential electricity needs to be taken into account, a residential investment of 19 MW has been found to meet the residential electricity needs of the district. As a result of the projecting work, it is necessary to build a 165 MW RES to meet the necessary household electricity needs by 2050. In addition, our work has compared CO2 emissions from wind energy as a result of the electric hand with the CO2 emissions from electricity production in the current situation in Turkey. If the need for electricity is fulfilled by wind energy, CO2 emissions will be reduced by 97.96%. It has been determined that wind energy has the potential to meet the electricity needs in Keşan by 2050 and that Turkey can make a great contribution to the achievement of its carbon emission reduction targets by using the wind energy potential in its maximum capacity.

Abstract:

Increasing energy demand, limitedness of fossil fuels and adverse effects of fossil fuels necessitates the utilization of alternative energy technologies. Here the aim is to assess the sustainability of wind power to meet the domestic electricity demand. In this study, areas feasible to implement wind turbines in Turkey are evaluated according to their wind energy potential. Edirne is found to be one of the most feasible areas to implement wind turbines strategically. When the population in Keşan (one of the most feasible areas in terms of wind speed and capacity factor in Edirne) and necessary electricity quantity are considered for the base year 2018, it is found that wind turbine with a total capacity of 19 MW can meet this demand. When projection till 2050 is performed, 165 MW capacity can meet necessary demand quantity. Additionally, CO2 emissions via electricity generation with wind and current energy mix in Turkey have been compared.  %97,96 CO2 emission reduction is found with wind electricity generation. Also, there is enough wind energy potential in Keşan to meet energy demand till 2050 and if Turkey utilizes its wind capacity to the fullest, this can contribute significantly to satisfy Turkey’s CO2 emission reduction targets.
