Ankara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi öğretim üyelerinden Prof. Dr. İrfan Aycan’ın hazırlamış olduğu bu eser, İslâm tarihinin ilk hanedan devleti olan Emevilerin kurucusu Mu’âviye b. Ebû Süfyân’ın hayatı, şahsiyeti, idari ve siyasi yükselişini konu almıştır. Ayrıca İslâm yönetim anlayışına getirmiş olduğu saltanat sisteminin kritiğini yaparak, Mu’âviye’nin günümüze kadar süregelen tartışmalı kişiliğini kaynaklar eşliğinde değerlenirmiştir. Emeviler Mu’âviye’nin müesses İslâmi düzene ters olarak getirmiş olduğu veliahtlık sistemiyle doksan sene hüküm sürmüşlerdir. İktidarlarında ellerindeki devlet gücünü kaybetmemek için her yola başvurmuşlardır. Kerbelâ vakasında Hz. Hüseyin’in ve diğer zamanlarda Hucr b. Adiy ve Zeyd b. Ali gibi şahsiyetlerin katledilmeleri kurmuş oldukları veliahtlık siteminin sonuçlarındandır. Zamanın olaylarının anlaşılması ve sağlıklı bir kritiğinin yapılabilmesi için Mu’âviye’nin hayatının öğrenilmesi gerekmektedir. Tanıtımını yapacağımız kitabın asıl amacının bu olduğunu söyleyebiliriz.
This work, prepared by Prof. Dr. Irfan Aycan from the teaching members of the University of Ankara Theology, has been on the subject of the life, personality, administrative and political ascension of the founder of the Emevians, the first dynasty state of Islamic history, Mu'aviye b. Ebû Süfyân. In addition, by criticizing the ruling system that Islam has brought to the understanding of the government, the controversial personality of Mu'awiya has been assessed by the sources that continued to date. This work, prepared by Prof. Dr. İrfan Aycan, who is a lecturer for Ankara University Faculty of Theology, deals with the life, personality, and administrative and political rise of Muʿāwiya b. Abu Sufyan, who is the founder of the Umayyads, namely the first dynasty state in the history of Islam. In addition, by criticizing the sultanate system that he brought to the understanding of Islamic administration, the writer evaluated the controversial personality of Muʿāwiya with resources. The Umayyads ruled for ninety years with the heirdom to the throne system that Muʿāwiya brought against the established Islamic order. They have resorted to every means in order not to lose the state power during their reign. In the Karbalāʾ event, they murdered Ḥusayn and later Hucr b. Adiy and Zeyd b. Ali, which is one of the consequences of the heirdom system they established. It is necessary to learn the life of Muʿāwiya in order to understand the events of the time and to make an objective critique. We can say that this is the main purpose of the book we will be promoting.
