Abstract:

The aim of this research is to examine the problems of Syrian Refuuge students who are studying at the public school of in the light of school primary school administrators’ and teachers’ opinions. Case study designs were used from the research design while conducting the research. The participants of this qualitative research is in 2019 year, 12 teachers’ and 2 primary school administrators’ working in the primary school in Istanbul, Beyoğlu district. While creating the study group the method of criterion sampling were used. The school with the highest number of Syrian students in Beyoğlu province was preferred. The other criterion that is used in the formation of study group is that the teachers and the primary school administrators’ who are going to have an interview would have given education to foreign student at least 4 years. In the research, interview and observation techniques were used to collect data. During the interview, semi-structured interview form developed by researcher and approved by field expert was used. In the form of semi-structured interview 11 questions were asked to primary school administrators’ and teachers’. In the research, unstructured observation technique was used from among observation techniques and non-participative observation type was used in terms of researchers role. While analyzing qualitative data content analysis method was applied. As a result of the research, more than one problem area has emerged, especially the language problem. The causes of the problems arising in the study and suggestions for solutions to the problems are also examined.
