Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of uncertainty on health workers due to the Covid-19 epidemic that emerged in China and spread throughout the world. The data was obtained by an survey containing the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants and the working conditions in the Covid-19 epidemic and the scale of uncertainty. 284 volunteers from the hospital’s healthcare staff who participated in the work responded to the survey online between June and September. The data is analyzed with the SPSS program, test and multi-directional variance analysis have been implemented because it shows normal distribution. The meaning is p<0,05. There has been no statistically meaningful relationship between gender, civic status, age, education level, occupation or work time and uncertainty. On the other hand, those who were not in the quarantine, the flexible staff staff and those who live with their friends were less uncertain (relevantly p=0,01, p=0,00, p=0,001). Uncertainty is an important factor that increases an individual’s anxiety. Those with higher uncertainty are more likely to experience psychological or harmony problems. Strengthening health workers against the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 epidemic is important and necessary for both their health and the fight against the epidemic.
