Abstract:

The development of menenjitis and intrakranial apse associated with Proteus mirabilis is observed in individuals with neonatal period and immune deficiency. The 35-year-old patient, who has been applying for fire, bullying and vomiting for three days, has been removed from the left top 10 days ago. The patient with acute bacterial meningitis in clinical and laboratory conditions was initiated parenteral ampyric seftriakson 2x2 gr/day. The patient who reproduced P. mirabilis in the blood and brain spinal fluid (BOS) was withdrawn to the cranial MR when they began their re-approximation on the seventh day of sleep. The patient with a temporary left brain abscess was diagnosed with surgery. It was fully recovered with an antibiotic treatment of eight weeks after surgery. In the patient believed that menenjitis was formed during the application due to dental surgery, then the temporary post-IT mastoiditis was detected. It is believed that developing menenjitis and brain abscessinitis are related to mastoiditis. In cases of meningitis, if it is not improved despite sensitive antibiotics, intrakranial apse should be considered, and in adults and non-immune deficiencies should not be forgotten that P. mirabilis-related meningitis may develop.
