Özel gereksinimli çocuğa sahip annelerin ev kazalarına yönelik güvenlik önlemleri ve ilkyardım konusundaki düşüncelerinin incelenmesinin amaçlandığı bu araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması olarak desenlenmiş ve görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Ankara ili Keçiören ilçesinde yer alan özel gereksinimli çocuğa sahip olan ve çocuğu özel eğitim kurumlarına devam eden anneler (22) dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda anneler çocuğunun sürekli ev kazası ile karşı karşıya kaldığını, kazalar çok sık olduğu için çocuklarının ev kazası geçirdiği yaşları tam olarak hatırlamadığını, kazalar sırasında çocuklarının yanında çoğunlukla kendilerinin bulunduğunu, çocuklarının ev kazası nedeniyle hastanede yatmadığını belirtmiştir. Bununla beraber anneler, ev kazalarından en çok yanmalara karşı müdahalelere örnek vermiş, en çok düşme ile karşılaştıklarını, kaza anında eşlerine haber verdikleri ve komşudan yardım istediklerini, önlem olarak tehlikeli eşyaları ortadan kaldırdığını, çocuk kilidini çok az kullandıklarını, çoğunlukla almak istedikleri bir güvenlik önleminin bulunmadığını, acil yardım hatlarından en çok 112’yi bildiklerini, ev kazaları ve ilkyardımla ilgili bir eğitimi almamalarına rağmen tamamının eğitim almak istediklerini ifade etmişlerdir.
The purpose of this research is to study the safety measures and thoughts of mothers with special needs in the case of household accidents and their thoughts on primary aid, this research is designed as a case study from the research methods and the conversation technique has been used. The study included mothers who have a child with a special need in the Ankara or Keçiören district and who continue their child to private educational institutions (22). The study found that the mothers found that their child was constantly faced with a home accident, that their children did not remember exactly the age of the home accident because the accidents were very frequent, that their children were mostly at their side during the accidents, and that their children did not sleep in the hospital because of the home accident. Nevertheless, the mothers have given examples of the most burning interventions from home accidents, they have met the most falls, they are informing their spouses at the moment of the accident and they are asking for help from the neighbor, they are removing dangerous items as a measure, they are using the child’s lock very little, they mostly do not have a security measure they want to get, they know the most of the 112 of emergency aid lines, they want to get all of the training, although they don’t get a training regarding home accidents and primary assistance.
This research, which aims to examine the opinions of mothers with children with special needs about the safety measures and first aid for home accidents, was designed as a case study –one of a qualitative research method- and interview technique was also used. Mothers (22) who are in Keçiören/Ankara, have children with special needs, and whose children attend special education institutions were included in the study. As a result of the research, the mothers stated that their child was constantly faced with a home accident, since the accidents were very frequent, they did did not remember exactly the ages that their children had a home accident, they were mostly with their children during the accidents, and their children were not hospitalized due to a home accident. Besides, the mothers gave examples of interventions against burns most often from home accidents, they also indicated that; they encountered the falls at most, they informed their spouses in the event of an accident and asked for help from the neighbor, they removed dangerous goods as a precaution, they used the child lock very little, they did not have a security measure that they mostly wanted to take, they knew 112 at most among the emergency lines, and they all wanted to receive training, although they did not receive any training on home accidents and first aid.
