Abstract:

Individuals tend to form an emotional bond with the place where they live. Although various movements or ideological discourses are produces to establish this bond, miscellaneous dynamics such as emotions, memories, cultural values have also played a significant role in the internalization of a space and taking a place in collective memory. Many questions about the nature of the space find meaning and are explained with these dynamics. The “space”, which may be more that the area it takes place, has been transformed over time and finally a new spatial transformation has started with the Covid-19 virus, which has affected the world in 2020. In this regard, the meaning and features of the space have differed. The aim of this study is to investigate transformation of space, after covid-19. In this respect, being an important place in Baku in terms of socio-economic, Fountains square was chosen as the sample in the study. The transformation of the Fountains Square, which is frequented by most Baku residents in daily life, due to Covid-19 will be discussed from the perspective of the character known as Flaneur.
