Özet:

Abstract Exploratory and sectional study with a quantitative approach, whose objectives were to identify health habits and measure the quality of life (QoL) of university students of the health field, as well as to verify the relationship between these variables. The data collection was conducted in a public federal university of Minas Gerais, in 2012, through the National College Health Risk Behavior (NCHRB) and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref (WHOQOL-bref). 253 students participated, mostly female, single and with a mean age of 22.4 year. The health habits observed highlighted the need for attention regarding the health of university students. The best scores of QoL were obtained in the physical and social relations dimensions, which correlated positively with healthy habits. It was found that the better the perception of health, the better the QoL. This study made it possible to better understand the health habits and the QoL of the participants, as well as to identify the relationship between health and QoL.
