Abstract:

The Otto111a11 sovereignty in Southeastern Europe co11ti11ued over 400 years. The Otto111a11 sovereignty in this region which had so complex ethnic and religious structures caused significant positive results for the history of the region. The nations of southeastern Europe entered in lhis historical process by defl11i11g themselves J.Fith both religion and language, le.ft the process again by having the same religion and lang uage and maintaining their differences. Some religio11s, cultural and economical rights, which Ottoman rule gave in the perspective of the "Millet S)istem ", caused, that the nations of so11theastem Europe could protect their religious, cul111ral and eco110111ical identities. The struct11re appeared i11 this way improved the economical and c11ltural situations of the 11alio11s of the region. Thus, the traditional Otto111a11 rule had positive i11jlue11ce 11po11 the success of nationalists thoughts, which was to be appeared in the.future and rebellio11s.
