Abstract:

One of the important poetry sources of classical Turkish literature is poetry magazines. Among the poetry magazines, those prepared for a specific person attract attention in terms of their content and the relationship between the poet and the subject. One of the poetry magazines prepared for the sultans is the magazine that is the subject of this study and is registered in the Topkapı Palace Museum Library, Turkish Manuscripts Department, archive number R. 1314. Magazine it was compiled for Sultan Mustafa II. and his princes Muhammed, Osman and Hasan. Magazine it was compiled by Sultan Mustafa's chief muezzin Muhammed b.Mahmud and consists of 45 pages. There are 34 poems in total, including 28 poems by 22 different poets whose pen names can be determined and 6 poems without a pen name. All of the poems in the magazine were written in qasida and stanza verse. The magazine consists of two parts in terms of content. The 13 poems in the first part are written by Sultan Mustafa II. it consists of historical poems, eulogies and an elegy about Mustafa's campaigns in Austria. The second part with 21 poems is about Sultan Mustafa II. it consists of historical poems written on the occasion of the births of Mustafa's princes Muhammed, Osman and Hasan. In this study, the magazine was examined in terms of form and content, and then sample poems and MESTAP table were presented to the readers.
