Continuous professional development programs are essential for the teachers to build their professional capacity and enhance their teaching abilities. The effectiveness of professional capacity building programs like, continuous professional development (CPD) program for school teachers depends upon the fact that what innovative teaching skills and content knowledge they learnt to ameliorate the students’ learning outcomes. This paper focused at measuring the effectiveness of CPD programs using the Kirkpatrick model. Quantitative survey research design was used to measure the research objective and self-developed questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The entire population was the 459 primary school teachers from all primary and elementary schools of district Mianwali selected on the devised criteria of DSD and attended the CPD program, was taken as the sample of the study. Data collected was analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. Results of the study showed that CPD program had positive effect on the teachers. Further, this effect was found significant with respect to gender, designation of the teachers and geographical area of the school. On the basis of the findings, it is recommended that the incentive based CPD programs may be carried out to develop the professional capacity building of the teachers.
