Bu çalışmada, Shakespeare’in Fırtına adlı eseri, sosyolojik inceleme yöntemiyle incelenecek ve bir imgebilim çalışması ortaya konulacaktır. Bir imgenin oluşumu, ona etki eden toplumsal yapının canlılığı ile paralellik gösterir. Sömürge dönemi, toplumların sosyal ve kültürel yapısında dönüşümlere sebep olmuştur. Bu durum toplumların algısını yönlendirmiş ve ‘öteki’ imgesini yaratmıştır. Bu nedenle sömürgecilik faaliyetleri kapsamında öteki kavramı üzerinden iki farklı kültürün algılanış biçimleri karşılaştırılacaktır. Çalışmanın temel dayanağı, imgenin doğuşundaki temel sebeplere inmek ve imgenin dönüşüm sürecine ışık tutmaktır. Bu hususta yazarın ‘öteki’ni nasıl bir bağlamda ele aldığı imge çalışmasının yöntemini belirlemektedir. Bu nedenle eserin ve yazarın içinde bulunduğu dönem, bağlamın incelenmesinde göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Çalışmada, Prospero ile ‘öteki’ne bakış, Caliban ile ‘öteki’nin bakışı ortaya konulmaya çalışılacak ve sömürgecilik faaliyetlerinin öteki imgesinin ortaya çıkışındaki etkisi üzerinde durulacaktır. Araştırmanın daha iyi açıklanabilmesi açısından, sömürgecilik faaliyetleri ve onları hazırlayan döneme kısaca değinilecektir. Bu çalışmada amaç, uygulamalı bir imgebilim çalışması aracılığıyla farklı bir dönemin ve farklı bir kültürün ötekiyi nasıl algıladığı ve ötekinin edebiyat aracılığıyla nasıl aktarıldığını göstermektir. Bundan ötürü, imge ve imgebilim kavramları açıklanacak, Shakespeare’in hayatına ve dönem İngilteresine değinilecek ve bu sayede, öteki kavramının Fırtına adlı eserde nasıl ve ne şekilde aktarıldığı ortaya konulacaktır.
In this study, Shakespeare’s work, The Storm, will be studied by the method of sociological examination and a study of immobility will be revealed. The formation of an image is parallel to the vitality of the social structure that affects it. The colonial era has led to transformations in the social and cultural structure of societies. This situation has directed the perception of the communities and created the “other” image. Therefore, in the context of colonial activities, the other concept will compare the perception forms of two different cultures. The basic basis of the study is to go down to the basic causes of the birth of the image and to keep light on the process of transformation of the image. In this regard, the author determines the way of the image work in which he addresses the other in a context. Therefore, the period in which the work and the writer are within should be considered in the study of the context. In the study, the prospero and the 'one' look will try to reveal the Caliban and the 'one' look and will focus on the impact of the other image of colonial activities on the appearance. In order to better explain the research, the colonial activities and the period preparing them will be briefly referred to. The aim of this study is to show how a different period and a different culture perceives the other and how the other is transmitted through literature through a practical study of immobility. For this reason, the concepts of image and immobility will be explained, referred to Shakespeare's life and period English, and thus, the other concept will be revealed how and how it was translated in the work called The Storm.
