Küreselleşmenin bir sonucu olarak rekabetin hızla arttığı günümüzde, makro düzeyde ülkelerin rekabet gücü mikro düzeyde ise işletmelerin rekabet gücüne katkısı bakımından kümeler önemli rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmada kümelenme kavramının gelişimi konusunda bilgi verilerek, kümelenmenin işletmelerin rekabet gücüne etkisinin belirlenmesi amacıyla Türkiye’de kümelenme politikaları ve hâlihazırda kümelenmelere verilen destekler yazın çalışmaları ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Kümelenmenin işletmelerin rekabet gücünü arttırmadaki etkisi, tipik durum örneklemesi olarak seçilen Çorum Tarımsal Gıda İşleme Makineleri Kümesi üzerinden incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, belirli bir coğrafyada aynı sektörde veya birbirini tamamlayan sektörlerde yer alan, ortak tehdit ve fırsatlardan etkilenen, gelişmek ve büyümek için iş birliği yapan işletmeler ve ilgili kurumlardan oluşan gruplar olan kümelerin, işletmelere yenilikçilik, uluslararasılaşma, uzmanlaşmış iş gücü ve tedarikçiye erişim ve verimlilik açısından önemli katkılarda bulunduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Son olarak araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bilgiler dikkate alınarak, kümelenme modelinin Türkiye’de başarılı olabilmesi ile ilgili önerilere yer verilmiştir.
