Abstract:

In the works of Refik Halit Karay, one of the leading writers of Turkish literature in the Republic Period, the deported and deported literature holds an important place. The writer, who spends a large part of his life in deportations, takes his experience of the deportation into the fictional world by moving from his own observations in his stories and novels. The Exile novel, which reflects its observations in the days of Beirut, Damascus and Aleppo, which forms the second period of the exile years, is presented in a realistic way with people from the Middle East geography. The exile novel follows the life of the other Hilmi Efendi in Beirut where he was sent as a exile and then in the framework of his lives in Damascus and Halep. The novel focuses on the formation of a sea city with the multicultural structure of Beirut. Damascus is described as a city under the rule of the Arab race. Halep is transmitted with a cultural structure that is closer to the Turks. The main character of the novel is Hilmi Efendi and his friend Irfan Mr. presented to the attention of the reader in the light of the factors that form the culture in these cities, such as life, climate characteristics, architecture, human typology, traditions and habits, a Middle East profile is presented.
