In this paper, we present an efficient and adaptive nonlinear control model for wind energy conversion system based on a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). The aim of this work is to develop a model which combines the vector control and the nonlinear Backstepping approach to control the currents rotor and the mechanical speed of the DFIG to extract the maximum of the power generated. The performance of the system is tested and compared with PI controller in terms of reference tracking, and robustness against DFIG parameters variations. Simulation results are presented under MATLAB/Simulink software show the validity of the proposed control strategies.<
