Abstract:

Poverty is one of the most important problems for all societies. The capitalist structure of the modern world has become the mandatory task of the states to fight poverty while the individuality has risen. Therefore, the states have established many institutions and organizations to combat poverty. There are also various organizations in Turkey established for the fight against poverty. The most important of these are the Social Assistance and Support Foundations that are established in each province and district. Through these foundations, the poor across the country can receive various aid. The COVID-19 epidemic, which began in China at the end of 2019 and quickly became a pandemic, has brought the fight against poverty to the top of the world’s agenda. The mandatory measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of the bullying have led to the expansion of the poor group. In this process, the SYD Foundations focused their work as the most important foot of social aid. The aim of this study is to assess the importance, effectiveness and role of these foundations in the fight against poverty and in the pandemic process.
