Özet:

Background: Accident risks can be prevented or reduced if information is gathered about the accidents the children have in the school environment and specific planning and regulation and potential protection measures are taken. Objectives: The aim of the study was to examine the children’s school environment accident and behavior of their parents for safety measures. Method: The research was carried out on descriptive type between 20-29.01.2016. Of the parents who applied to the Antalya Atatürk Governmental Hospital Hüseyin Savaş outpatient clinic, 101 parents who agreed to voluntarily participate in the survey constituted the sample of the researcher. The research questionnaire was formed by the researchers using the literature and was applied by face to face survey application technique. Results: In our study, it was determined that 55.4% of the children had an accident at school and 38.6% were injured due to the accident. It was determined that children (49.2%) had an accident in the form of falling. Most of the students who had an accident were within the school; (46.4%) in the classroom and 17.9% in the garden (17.9%) outside the school, and 64.3% had the first intervention by the class teacher in the accident. It was found that the children who had education about the reasons of accident, protection and prevention had fewer accidents (p<0.05). It has been determined that 82% of the families have taken measures to prevent accidents. Conclusion: School authorities, families and students; accidents, accident prevention, and such interventions to ensure that this information is transformed into behavior / practice
