Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the values of primary school students using ethical bilingual stories. The study used five dual stories comparing the value of responsibility with the value of compassion, justice, love, cooperation and sharing.  The method of research is preferred. From the case study patterns, multiple case research patterns have been used. 100 primary school students participated in the study. The data obtained from the research was studied using the content analysis technique with the Nvivo11 quality data analysis program. The study results in the value preferences of students; their personal interests, their close surroundings (mother, teacher, friend, etc.) It was concluded that it could be influenced by social and universal moral principles. Students have preferred the values of sharing, compassion and justice instead of the values of responsibility when their personal interests are not concerned. But when it comes to their personal interests, they prefer the value of responsibility against the values of love and cooperation. In cases where the value of responsibility is preferred, the mother’s factor is also seriously influenced. As a result, it can be said that in the process of teaching value children are seriously affected by their surroundings. In this context, it is believed that the school-family-environmental cooperation in value teaching can give the desired results.
