Since the day the Qur’an was revealed, the Qur’an has attracted the attention of both believers and non-believers with its content and style. Over time, this attention called for the translation of the Qur’an into different languages. There is no style that was introduced that is similar to that of the Qur’an. The uniqueness of this style makes it difficult to translate it into any other languages. The fact that the Qur’an was sent to all human beings neccesitated for the Qur’an to be translated it into other languages. Translations of the Qur’an translated into different languages are increasing each day. Each translation contributes to the correct understanding of the Qur’an. During the Soviet Union period The Socialist Power had killed many religious scholars in the Kazakh region and destroyed the Quran translated into Kazakh and other Islamic works. In the Kazakh region, Halife Altay was the first to propose translation of the Qur’an into Kazakh. Halife Altay who devoted a large part of his life to the research and translation of the Quran, has benefited from all reputable translations and commentaries like Beyzavî, Celâleyn and Elmalı Hamdı’s translations and commentaries. This study eximined the work “Kuran Karim Kazakşa Mağına jane Tüsinigi” by Halife Altay Gağıpoğlu, who was an expert in the field of language and literature, especially religious sciences. He translated the Qur’an into the Kazakh language in 1991 for the Republic of Kazakhstan. The fact that Halife Altay, who first translated the Qur’an into Kazakh, had competent knowledge of Kazakh which also reflected in his work. In his work, Halife Altay reflected that he mastered religious sciences and had a command of the Arabic language. This study evaluated the Qur’an that was translated into Kazakh by Halife Altay, whose audience were the Kazakh people.
